Son of Henry and Annie Bristow Clayson, a carpenter who not only built rail cars with his father for Grand Trunk Railroad, but also a member of The Fellowship Of The Royal College of Organists. An accomplished organist, he never married and he died, at the age of 33, during the 1919 Spanish flu epidemic, at Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. He was buried at Mount Royal Cemetery.
