Martha (Fletcher) Hemingway was 20 years old when she immigrated to the USA with her family from ENGLAND. They left ENGLAND on 24 May 1858 in the ship "S.S. City of Washington". Traveling with her were her parents, Richard and Susan (Wadsworth) Fletcher and brother Noah who was 15. Also aboard the same ship was her future husband, William Hemingway who was 30. Their names can be found on the ships PASSENGER LIST as numbers 64-67,and Mr. Hemingway as #173.
