Mrs. Olivia Saunders, wife of Mr. W. I. Saunders, died at her home near Merced Wednesday last from consumption. The maiden name of the deceased was Miss Olivia Ragsdale. She was a native of Paris, Missouri, 30 years of age and was married to Mr. Saunders at her home in Missouri about two years and a half ago. Mrs. Saunders had been a sufferer from consumption for nearly a year and last summer visited the coast and also the mountains to try and regain her health, but she gradually failed until death came to her relief. She leaves a husband and an infant daughter. The funeral will take place from the M. E. Church this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
