Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 14th at the Braman Christian Church in Braman, OK with Reverend Edna Bolen officiating. Burial will be in the Braman Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Hawks-Shelley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wellington. A memorial has been established with the Alzheimer's Association. Olive was born on February 21, 1921 in Runnymede, Kansas the daughter of William and Zenia Elizabeth Cook Houchin. She attended School in Shulte, Kansas. On April 10, 1940 she was united in marriage with Charles Edwin Roberts in Thomas, Oklahoma. Olive had lived in Braman and was a skilled seamstress making drapes professionally. Olive was a cook at friendship meals in Caldwell, KS and later moved to Wellington to be closer to family. She was a member of the Central Christian Church in Caldwell.
Surviving to honor her memory are her daughter Ann Crockett and husband Jim of Udall, KS and son Eddie Roberts and wife Judy of Caldwell, KS, sister Eva Houchin of Derby, KS and brother Carl Houchin of Derby, KS 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Charles in 1968, sons James Earl Roberts and Charles L Roberts, brothers Orn, Lloyd, Ralph, Earl and Alfred "Bud" Houchin and sisters Maxine Struble and Mary Houchin.
