LYME, Conn. — Beverly Wilson Bradford, formerly of Andover, died at her home in Lyme, Conn. on Monday, Sept. 15, 2008. Born in New Orleans, "Bev" was raised in Galveston, Texas and Mobile, Ala. and attended Our Lady of the Lakes College in San Antonio.

In 1940, she married Gerard Bradford Jr., who served in World War II as a Navy pilot and subsequently as an airline pilot for Trans World Airlines. Captain Bradford passed away in 2002.

A devoted wife and moth, she is survived by four of her six children, Gerard Baradford III (Pete) and his wife Linda of Kailua, Hawaii, Nancy Bradford of Joly, Wil Bradford and his wife Deetsie and Betsy Bradford Cooley and her husband Jeff, all of Lyme/Old Lyme, Conn. In addition, she is survived by six grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Beverly possessed great personal charm and exceptional courage. She lived life as much as she played bridge, with infectious joy and a fearless enthusiasm. A woman who always put her family first, her warmth, humor and joy of life will be sorely missed.

ARRANGEMENTS: A service and interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia on March 27, 2009 and a memorial celebration will be held at the Old Lyme Beach Club at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008. Gifts in her memory to the Child and Family Agency of Southeastern, Conn. would be warmly appreciated.
