Mrs. Evelyn V. Harbaugh, 86, of Thurmont, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at her home. She was the wife of the late Alvie S. Harbaugh.
Born Sept. 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Esther Shingledecker Webb.

Mrs. Harbaugh was a past member of the Weller United Methodist Church. She worked for over 20 years at the Rambler Motel. She enjoyed spending time with her family and working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by three children, Merle "Butch" Shorb of Westminister, R. J. Shorb and wife Betty of Thurmont, and Sharon Walker and husband Bill of Chester, Va. There are five grandchildren, four step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by her good friends Emily and Fred Slovic, Wanda Myers and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Burrier. She was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Shorb and two sisters, Thelma Miller and F. Grace Starner.
