William Austin, Wayne City
William P. Austin, 83, of Wayne City, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired farmer.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Richardson Chapel in Wyane City. Burial will be in Thomason cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 6 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Austin was born Jan. 27, 1891, in Wayne county, the son of Willis and Nora (Boswell) Austin.
He was married to Josephine Withrow, who preceded him in death in 1954.
Mr. Autin was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by three sons, Eldon Austin, of Wayne City, Hobart Austin, of Channahon, Ill., and Lee Austin, of Champaign; two daughters, Mrs. Edna Butler, of Belvidere, and Mrs. Mary Joe Bruce, of Fairfield; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Austin, of Wayne City; and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Hutchison, of Carmi.
