Age 81, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, October 3, 2008 surrounded by her family.
Born in Wilmington, DE, Mrs. Baker was the daughter of the late Adam and Felicia (Wronska) Minakowski. She worked as a merchandise receiver for the Fashion Center at Sears & Roebuck's for 20 years before her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, playing the lottery and watching game shows. Her family was most important to her.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Martin Barnes and by her husband of 34 years, John R. Baker. She will be dearly missed by her children and their spouses, Martin and Marie Barnes of Wilmington, DE, Kevin and Linda Barnes of Middletown, DE, Richard and Lori Baker of Wilmington, DE, Patricia and Stephen Cebenka of Wilmington, DE, and Carol and Tony Stout of Landenberg, PA. Also surviving are her 9 grandchildren, Renee Barnes, Carmen Barnes, Stacey Wiley, Ashley Barnes, Rachel Baker, Ben Baker, Anna Baker, Katie Stout and Christopher Stout; and 3 great grandchildren, Daniel Barnes, Jacey Wiley and Jake Wiley.
Friends and family are invited to visitation on Tuesday, October 7 between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington where funeral services will begin at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
