Hollis P. Cole Slama of Philomath died Thursday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. She was 91.

She was born in Gravity, Iowa, to Ward and Faye (Foster) Valentine.

Hollis married Raymond Cole in 1930 and they had five children. In 1941 they lived in Philomath for a short time and then moved to Burbank, Calif., where they both worked in the airplane factories. After two years they moved back to Philomath.

Hollis worked as a cook on the Oregon State University campus and the Children's Farm Home. She enjoyed being around young people on her jobs. Hollis had strong belief and was a member of the Jehovah Witness Corvallis congregation.

Raymond died in 1972.

She re-married in 1976 to Frank Slama. He died in 1999.

She was also preceded in death by a son and daughter, two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, in the Mt. Union Cemetery in Philomath. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Corvallis Kingdom Hall.
