Mrs. Florence (Dot) Wright Wallace, age 93, passed away on September 28, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008, in Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Rob Bruce officiating.
Burial will be in Marietta City Cemetery.
She was a life long resident of Cobb County; and graduated from the original Marietta High School in 1931. Mrs. Wallace was a member of the Ollinville Methodist Church, which became St. Stephen's United Methodist Church on Roswell Street. Her working career included ward secretary at the old Kennestone Hospital, and food preparation service in several Marietta grammar schools. Mrs. Wallace's passion was caring for her family; and every child she met.
She was the widow of Harold E. Wallace; and was preceded in death by her eldest son, Earl Wallace.
Surviving are her children, Harry L. (Pete) Wallace, of Ellijay; Wayne Wallace (Donna), and Connie Stephens (Roy), of Marietta; sister, Emma Couey, of Pine Lake; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Wallace; grandchildren, Amy Anderson, Mike Anderson, Darryl Wallace, Shannon Lubin, Lauri Wise, Stuart Wallace, Sumer Rook; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
