John Honerkamp believes he is buried in Piedmont, I find a death for a John Erickson in Pennington County 31 May 1912,∼John Erickson was born in Sweden in about 1840 to 1844. He died 31 March 1912 at Rapid City, Pennington Co., South Dakota and buried at Piedmont Cemetery. The man that had the gravestone made, ASSUMED John Erickson was born 1840. He did not know. I was in contact with the man that had the headstone man and provided him with my research. Wasn't too happy with him posting the year of birth as 1840....but too late now to change headstone. The 1900 census listed John Erickson born in 1844. Had no month of birth. I've never found exactly when John was born.
The only sibling that came to America was Peter Erickson his brother.
