Mrs. Niels Andersen
Inger Christensen was born in Hundborg, Denmark, September 16, 1875. In 1902 she came to America and on the 4th of April, 1903, was united in marriage to Niels Andersen. The wedding took place in the Diamond Lake church. For eleven years they lived on the farm owned by Mr. Andersen in Diamond Lake. Two sons were born there, Christen and Victor. About thirteen years ago they sold the farm and moved to town, erecting the nice home now owned by the Lampes. In 1916 they sold out and moved to Racine, Wisconsin, where they have since made their home.
Mrs. Andersen was a member of the Danish Sisterhood and of the Danish Lutheran Church. She was a kind, loving wife and mother and made a good home for her little family. What makes her death so sad is the fact that her husband, Mr. Niels Andersen, is blind, and he will certainly miss the loving care she gave him.
The first funeral services were held in the church at Racine and were attended by a large number of friends. At first it was intended to bury her in Racine, but the sisters so strongly advocated her burial here, that Mr. Andersen finally consented and the remains were brought here on Saturday morning.
On Sunday, funeral services were held at the Jens Jasperson home and later in the church at Diamond Lake. Interment was made in that cemetery. The pall bearers were H.C. Christensen, Jens Jaspersen, Carl Nielsen, Mads Dahl, Peter Andersen and Andrew Larsen.
There are left to mourn the husband, two sons, Victor and Christen; two brothers and the aged father, now 82 years old, all in Denmark. Four sisters Mrs. H.C.Christensen and Mrs. Jens Jasperson of this place and two sisters living in Denmark.
