Wilma Ione Marrs, the daughter of James Blair and Essie Myern (McCartney) Asbury, was born June 22, 1923 in Amity, Missouri. She attended school in Vinton, Iowa.

On November 16, 1946 she was united in marriage to Woodrow Orville Marrs in Tarkio, where they also made their home. Wilma was a homemaker and for a short time worked at the Tarkio Dime Store.

Wilma passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Missouri at the age of 85 years.

Wilma was a member of the Tarkio Presbyterian Church, the Ladies Auxiliary, the Tops Club, the Extension Club, and a former member of the Tarkio Chamber of Commerce.
Besides her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Orville Marrs, one sister, Lola Davenport, and one brother, James Wesley Asbury. Survivors include two sons, Darrell Richard Sturtz, Indianola, Iowa, and Larry Lee Sturtz and his wife, Helen, Tarkio; daughter, Patricia Elaine Gregg, and her husband Marvin, Oakland, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one sister, Doris King, Rock Port, Missouri.

Funeral Services:
1:00 P.M., Saturday, August, 16
Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
Viewing will begin 9:00 A.M. Friday.
