On September 27, 1947 she married Ray "Ozzie" King, Jr. in Rock Port. The Kings made their home in Rock Port until moving to Westboro in 1951. They returned to Rock Port in 1986.
Doris worked as a cook at Tarkio College, the Hen House restaurant, and the Rock Port Nutrition Site. She and Ozzie also owned and operated a café in Westboro. She attended the Grace Church.
Doris passed away on Tuesday, Janurary 15, 2013 at her Rock Port home at the age of 84.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, James Asbury; and sisters, Wilma Marrs and Lola Davenport.
Survivors include her son, Jim King of Westboro; daughters, Donna Baker and Karen Perry of Lincoln, Alabama; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Grace Church in Rock Port. Family will greet friends following the services, at the church. Inurnment will be held at Greenhill Cemetery.
