Funeral Held for Edward E Myers

Funeral services for Edward E. Myers, long-time resident of Wheeler county, who died at his home in Fossl[sic] last Thursday evening, were held Saturday, August 24 at the Methodist church in Fossil. At the time of his death, Mr. Myers was 66 years old. Reverend Ethel L. Williams, pastor of the church, was in charge of the funeral.

Edward Elmer Myers was born July 8, 1880 at Mt. Pleasant , Iowa, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Mason Myers. In 1888, he moved with his family to Oregon, where they settled on Thirty-mile Creek, eight miles east of Fossil. On July 13, 1913, Mr. Myers was married to Miss Lola Shown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shown of Tweickenham, who were also pioneer settlers in that region.

Survivors include his wife, Lola, two sons, Edgar M. of Fossil, and John of Condon, and three grandsons, Bob, John and Jim, all sons of Edgar Myers.

Burial was in the Masonic section of the Fossil cemetery, with Burns Mortuary in charge.
