Ex-Officer Dies at 77 - Joseph F Adams, 77, retired Mansfield policeman who lived at 427 North Mulberry street, died at Peoples hospital Tuesday afternoon following a long illness. Born in Richland county 24 January 1873, he was the son of John and Milinda Byroads Adams, and he spent his entire life in this vicinity. He was a member of Mayflower Congregational church. He served on the Mansfield police force from 16 April 1911, until his retirement on 1 January 1933. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Florence Blunk of Mansfield, and Mrs Jack Braden (Geraldine Adams) of Butler; two brothers, Elmer and Albert Adams, both of Mansfield, and five grandchildren. Services will be conducted at the Finefrock funeral home Friday at 3 pm by Rev A.F. Lindbeck, pastor of Mayflower Congregational church. Burial will be in Mansfield cemetery. Pallbearers will be Police Chief Jesse J Schwab, Desk Sergeant O.D. Fair, Patrolmen Russell Miles and George Yoakum; Capt C.W.
