Mr. Henry Clay Moody, 77, of 4076 Beaver Dam Road, Vilas, N.C., died Monday evening, Sept. 22, 2008, at Watauga Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 20, 1931 in Watauga County, a son of the late Stacy and Sarah Norris Moody.
Mr. Moody was a retired farmer and a member and deacon of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. He was also a guitar player in a bluegrass gospel band for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Stout Moody; one daughter, Virginia Harmon and husband, Clyde, of Lenoir; two sons, Dennis Moody and Darrell Moody and wife, Amy, all of Vilas; two granddaughters, Stacie Barber and husband, Brandon, of Charleston, S.C., and Jamie Roark and husband, Michael, of Vilas; two grandsons, Jason Harmon and wife, Carmen, of Lenoir, and Mavrick Moody of Vilas; one great-granddaughter, Molly Roark of Vilas; one great-grandson, Jacob Harmon of Lenoir; two sisters, Margaret Eggers of Vilas, and Helen May and husband, Dean, of Taylorsville; and one brother, B.F. "Pete" Moody and wife, Annie, of Lenoir. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Bess Wilson; and one brother, Ralph Moody.
Burial followed in the Upper Beaver Dam Cemetery.
