Katherine Scanlin was born in Cork, Ireland, Sept. 24, 1831 and died at Blaine, Kans., Dec. 4, 1911. Age 80 years, 5 months and 2 days.
She came with her parents to this country when but a babe and located in Logan, Ohio. She was married to Hamilton Pratt Bishop, in Logan, Ohio, May 1, 1860. She with her husband moved to Holton, Kansas, in 1866, where she has since resided. Her husband died Nov. 8, 1892. Of her relatives, one sister and three brothers survive her. The relatives who attended the funeral from a distance were, Mr. and Mrs. G. Bishop, of Blaine, Kansas, and Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Bishop of Bouge, Ks. Mrs. Bishop was a faithful member of St. Dominic's church of this city and interment was made in the Catholic cemetery beside her husband.
