George Norris Kelly, Jr. was born Thursday, October 20, 1898 in Pushmataha, Alabama to the union of George Norris Kelly, Sr. and Laura Belle Hamburg Kelly and died Wednesday, October 13, 1982 in Pollock, Louisiana. Mr. Kelly was a retired farmer and had relocated to Pollock in 1962 from Kinder, Louisiana. He was a lover of baseball and had a brief stint as a pitcher for a St. Louis Cardinal's farm team in the early 1920's.

Survivors include his wife: Necy Loyce Kelly of Pollock, four sons: Thaddies Eugene Kelly of Houma, George Dallas Kelly of Pollock, Ernest Ray Kelly of Alexandria and Robert Richard Kelly of Kinder, two daughters: Laura Louise Kelly Dykes of Kelly and Luna Loyce Kelly Rowland of Franklin, Ohio, a half-brother: William "Bill" Clark of Needham, Ala., a half-sister: Katherine Laura "Katie" Clark Taylor of North Carolina, 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father: George Norris Kelly, Sr., his mother: Laura Belle Hamburg Kelly Clark, his brothers: Hubert Kelly and John Norris Kelly, his sister: Lucy Alma Kelly Southern, his half-sister: Bobbie Louise Clark Turner, his half-brother: Fate Lamar Clark, his paternal grandparents: Solomon N. Kelly and Sara Jane Felts Kelly, and his maternal grandparents: John Hamburg and Louisa Radford Hamburg.

POLLOCK – George Norris Kelly, 83, of Pollock, died at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday in Woods Haven Nursing Home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Rush, Pineville, with the Revs. Ernest Huber and Lowell Reichardt officiating. Burial will be in Pollock Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Elmer Kelly, Zendal Kelly, Adam Kelly, Glenn Kelly, Joseph Fontenot Jr., and Gary Rigmaiden.
