BISHOPVILLE - Funeral services for Melvin DuBose "Bose" Kennington, Sr., age 84, who died July 15, will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Rev. B.R. Wallace will officiate. Burial will be in Community Bible Church Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Kennington was born in Bishopville, a son of the late Melvin and Maggie Chewning Kennington. He was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, had retired from Kendall Mills and was a veteran of WW II. Surviving are: daughter: Christy (Homer) Baker, Camden; son: Melvin DuBose Kennington, Jr., Florence; sisters: Ruby Powers, Doris Eddings, Sue Hornsby, all of Camden; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice DeBruhl Kennington and his second wife, Jo Kennington; daughter: Faith Sanders. Memorials may be made to the Bishopville Rescue Squad, P.O.
