Ruth Mary went to HS in Kennett MO where she excelled in sports. She was staying with her only sister at the time. Upon the death of her father, she had to return to Sedgewickville MO and help her mother with the family store and gas station in Sedgewickville. She met Pyrtle after moving back to Sedgewickville and they were married in Jackson MO Oct 1933. Dad taught school during their early years of marriage in that area. Around 1937, they moved to Southeast Missouri where he taught school and farmed. My parents spent the rest of their lives in the Advance area.
