Lawson Sr., William "Tennyson Hillbilly"
TENNYSON, Ind. — William "Tennyson Hillbilly" Lawson Sr., 70, of Tennyson, Ind., died Sunday Aug. 31, 2008. He was born May 15, 1938.
William enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed flea marketing. William was the type of man who never met a stranger and would do anything for anybody. His favorite pastime was going to the Village Fireside Restaurant and having coffee with family and friends. He loved you all.
The family would like to thank Dr. Barnett for his wonderful care to William.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Lawson, in 1999; brothers, John Lawson and Jim Lawson; and a sister, Mary Lou (Lawson) Box.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Sharon (Bowman) Lawson; sons, William Lawson and his wife, Teresa, of Dyersburg, Tenn., Ronnie Lawson and his wife, Sharon, of Tigret, Tenn., Mike Lawson and his wife, Belinda, of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Homer Lawson and his wife, Julie, of Union City, Tenn.; daughters, Karen Walley and husband, Tim, of Dyersburg, Tenn.; and Becky (Lawson) White and husband, Donnie, of Boonville; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Martha Hall and Violet Jin, both of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Barbara Sims of Missouri; and lots of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at Koehler Funeral Home, Boonville Chapel, burial in Skelton Cemetery near Tennyson.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at Koehler Funeral Home, Boonville Chapel. Memorial contributions in memory of William may be made to the family.
