Miss Myrtle Bates of this town died here Saturday after a very brief illness which was not considered serious until a few hours before her death. She was brought down from Kimberly, where she had been for some time, suffering from an attack of quinsy or tonsilitis, and the disease proved fatal. She was a very estimable young lady of 17 years of age, a general favorite and popular with everybody.
