Alice R. Angell was the daughter of Mary Sarepta Farmer (1834-1903) and Edwin Ruthvin Angell (1826-1900).

On June 30,1887, she married William Samuel "Sam" Richardson (1861-1918) in Bakersfield, Kern County, California. They had five children, all died as infants prior to 1901.
Known children:
• Naomi Florence (1890's-bef. 1900) age 3½
• Frank Orr (1892-late in 1900) age 7

Her occupation is shown as a Practical Nurse in the California Voter Registrations and the 1920 U.S. census.

Sam and Alice both became ill during the world wide epidemic of influenza in October 1918. Sam died and Alice managed to recover.

Sometime after 1920 she married Charles Nelson Borgwardt (1864-1939).
