Married to Porter Jessep Dix on March 6, 1912. Mother of Mary Charlotte, William Howard, Gerald Johnson "Jerry", Estella Virginia, Porter Edward, Emma Josephine and Frances Irene Dix.

Rites Here For Mrs. Roxie Dix, 83

Mrs. Roxie G. Dix, 83, Scottsburg, former resident of Sullivan, died Friday night at a Scottsburg nursing home after an extended illness.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Mary Hluchan, Indianapolis, Mrs. Estella Rufhmer, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Emma Nash, Mystic, Conn., and Mrs. Frances Closs, Seattle, Wash.; three sons, William Dix, Colorado Springs, Colo., Gerald Dix, Sumter, S.C., and Porter Dix, New Jersey, and 16 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Porter Dix, a former mail carrier here, in 1959.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church in Sullivan, the Rev. John Lyttle officiating, with burial in Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg.

Friends may call at the Alexander Funeral Home.
