The first child, Martin Gunderson, was born 26 Nov. 1874 in Kongsvinger, Hedmark Norway to Gunder and Mathea. He came to America with his parents, sister and two other brothers in 1884. He died before 1927 as he is listed in his mother's obituary as preceeding her. Date of death and place of burial unknown.
Another child of Gunder and Mathea, Ole Gunderson, was born and died in Murray Co., MN (4 April 1888 - 8 March 1891). Unable to find where he was buried.

Martha Anderson was born in Kong Svinger, Norway, June 7th, 1850. She was married in 1875 to Gunder Gunderson. They emigrated to America in 1883 and settled on a farm near Chandler, Minn. To their union were born nine children, three of whom have gone before, namely, Mrs. Mathilda (Carl) Johnson, Martin and Ole. Mrs. Gunderson died at her home, Monday, September 5th after an illness of three months which her age could not resist. The funeral was held at Union Church, Wednesday, September 7th, Rev. T. A. Goodmonson of Slayton conducted the funeral sermon. The remains were laid at rest in the Chandler Cemetery. The memeber of the family who mourn her loss are her husband, Gunder Gunderson, two daughters, Mrs. Gena (F. O.) Gustafson, of Concrete, ND and Mrs. Theoline (Ingvald) Klemmetsen of Jerkel, Minn., four sons, Oscar of Klamath Falls, Ore, John, Sigvert and Alfred of this place and two grandchildren, Martin and Annie Johnson who are at home with their grandparents since infancy. Of Mrs. Gunderson it can be said, "She was a Chrisitan." Her life was devoted to her religion and her family. She fervently toiled until she was called by her God to rest. Her name, Martha, was truly fitting.
