When he came to MN, he was also known as Gunder Bottelsrud although his birth name was Gunderson.

A child of Mathea and Gunder, Martin Gunderson was born 26 Nov. 1874 in Kongsvinger, Hedmark, Norway. He came to America with his parents, sister and two other brothers. He died before 1927 as he is listed in his mother's obituary as preceeding her. Date of death and place of burial unknown.

Another child of Gunder and Mathea, Ole Gunderson, was born and died in Murray Co., MN (4 April 1888 - 8 March 1891). Unable to find where he was buried.

Mrs. Theoline Klemmetson of Zerkel came Saturday to be in attendance at her father's funeral. Miss Jenie Rockstad of Concrete, ND, granddaughter of the late Mr. Bottelsrud came on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Nels Kraavig and Norman and Mary Ellen drove here Tuesday to attend the Bottelsrud funeral.
Gunder Gunderson Bottelsrud, age 83 years and 6 months, passed from this life last Friday morning, Nov. 1st, after an illness of only a few hours due to a stroke of paralysis. He was in apparently good health up to the time of his death. The deceased was born in Kong Svinger, Norway in 1846, was married to Miss Martha Anderson and came to America in 1883. They settled at Hadley, and later moved to Chandler, where they have since lived. To their union were born 9 children, three of which preceded their parents in death. Mr. Bottelsrud's wife passed away in Sept. 1927. Those living are Mrs. Frank Gustafson of Concrete, ND, Oscar Gunderson of Seattle Wash; Mrs. Theoline Klemmetson of Zerkel, Minnesota and John, Alfred and Sigvert of this place. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Goodmonson of Slayton conducting the services.
