In 1860 he was a "Collecting Officer" which may have been today's Tax Collector. His grandson Dimmin Curtis 1879-1936 (Oak Hill Cemetery) of Johnson City was also a Tax Collector.
Henry Geroge Curtis settled/farmed at least 600+ acres in Boones Creek. Oct 1866 his father sold the adjoining land for debt. Washington Dist. 11 (next to the White & Curtis farms) see newspapers.com Union Flag
