OBITURARY: JACOB HOY

Jacob Hoy of Harrison Township, Henry County, Ohio, died on January 1st, 1902, aged 70 years, 4 months and 1 day.

He was born in Northumberland County, Pa., on August 31, 1831. He moved to Ohio 32 years ago, and was married Dec. 17, 1857, to Miss Sarah Schoffstall. This union was blessed with 7 children, 2 preceeding him in death to the spirit land. He leaves 17 grandchildren.

He united with the Reformed church of Fairfield County, Ohio, under the teachings of Pastor Heppley. Mr. Hoy will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. He was a good and peaceable citizen, an honor to the community in which he lived. Funeral services were held at Calvery church on Sunday, January 5th, 1902. Pastor J. Ihle officiating, who preached from the text Ps. 23:4 - God's presence in life.
