Born an identical triplet, she was the daughter of the late Richard "Doc" and Iantha (King) McCloskey.
Mrs. Kempton graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Education. She taught Art for three years in the Gettysburg Public School District before moving with her husband to New Jersey and starting her family.
Joyce was an avid reader, an artist, and enjoyed doing needlework, as well as spending time with her family.
Joyce was the loving wife of Alan R. "Bucky" Kempton, to whom she was married 49 years and surviving, in addition to Bucky, are two children, Pamela Kempton of Severn, MD, and Laurie Kania of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren; and one identical triplet sister, Jeanne McDonough of Ocean City, N.J.
She was preceded in death by her other identical sister, Julie McCloskey.
