Edna Waters of Muldrow was born March 25, 1920, in Short to C.P. and Betty Bradford Barnes and passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008, in Barling at the age of 88.

She is survived by three daughters, Loretta Bremer of the home; Patricia Keener and her husband, Jonathon of Snohomish, Wash., and Thelma Smith and her husband, Glen of Benton; one son, Edward Waters and his wife, Joy of Elgin, Ore.; four sisters, Emma Waters of Short, Laura Mickell of Muldrow, Mary Rose of Modesto, Calif., and Lydia Omellas of Newark, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Waters, in 1976; one daughter, Shirley Vann; four brothers, Henry, Raymond, Sebern and Wilburn Barnes. Mrs. Waters was a longtime member of the Assembly of God in Muldrow and loved to fish and travel. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Pallbearers will be Charles Vann, Robert Bremer, Lyndall Goswick Sr., Lyndall Goswick Jr., Devin Goswick, Tony Edwards Jr., Ronnie Palmer and Fred Harrison.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Edward Vann, Brandon Goswick and Dustin Taylor Goswick.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Mallory-Martin Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Linn and Pastor Michael Branson and Pastor Jimmy Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Seabolt Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
