Henry H. Schneider was born in Barton County on January 31, 1881, to Barbara and Peter Schneider. He spent his boyhood days in Marion County, with his entire life spent in Kansas. When he was a young man he moved to Lincoln County, where he farmed until his retirement in 1949. After his retirement they moved to Downs where he remained until his death.
Mr. Schneider died at Asbury Hospital, Salina, after an illness of 4 months, having reached the age of 77 years, 7 months and 3 days.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 56 years; the six children: Esther Steinle, Lucas, Lily Doll, Kinsley; Bertha Keller, Cawker City; Sam Schneider, Salina; Charlie Schneider, Hunter, and Betty Land, Kansas City, Missouri; five grand-children and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are 3 brothers and 2 sister: Charlie Schneider, Lucas,; Jake Schneider, Larned; Fred Schneider, Hunter, and Mary Schaffer, Higgins, Texas; and 3 half-brothers and 5 half-sisters, besides other relatives and friends.
