Mary E. Lovins, 86, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Claude Fields officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Marshall Baptist Temple.

Born Nov. 20, 1921, in Richmond, she was the daughter of the late John Louis Wright and Laura L. Webster Wright. In 1941, she married Rev. Chris Owens, and in 1970, she married Don Lovins, both of whom preceded her in death. She had lived in Marshall since 1949, moving from Richmond. She had worked at International Shoe Company and retired in 1997 from Fitzgibbon Hospital.

Survivors include two grandsons, Lee Thornton of Springfield and Ronnie Thornton of Kansas City; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Maidmant of Richmond and Mamie Miller of Kansas City; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her caregiver of many years, Judy Blalock and family of Marshall.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
