Alfred Bambrough, 53, of Springfield, a switchboard operator at Fire Engine House No. 1, died yesterday at Memorial hospital where he was taken after suffering a heart attack Sunday at his residence.
Mr. Bambrough was born April 22, 1893, in Springfield, and had resided here all his life. He was Republican committeeman of precinct 17 and was active in the Coon Hound Hunts. His mother and five brothers preceded him in death.
He is survived by his father Thomas, with whom he made his home; a brother, John, Chicago; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Rieffler, Oak Park; Mrs. Dorothy Beechler, Peoria; Mrs. Isabelle Hillan, Maywood, and Mrs. Ellen Sawyer, city.
