Mary Brungardt, 91, 1314 Donald, died Sunday, July 21, 2002, at her home. She was born March 4, 1911, in Ellis County to Anastas and Agnes (Dinkel) Leiker. She was a graduate of Hays High School.
She married Benedict J. Brungardt on June 9, 1930, in Gorham He died Feb. 25, 1990. They farmed in the Gorham area, retiring to Hays. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church.
Survivors include a sister, Agnes Condit, Great Bend; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Brungardt, and a daughter, Margery Becker.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church with Father Bill Surmeier officiating; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine. A parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
