💖 She was my grandmother.

We were very close. We lived with her and my grandfather when i was a baby for a few years til i was 3. Then again for about a year when i was 6 years old. When i was 8 years old and my grandfather passed away she lived with my family and me until she passed away.
She was a homemaker and mother of 7 children. She was a hard worker. She grew up on a farm in Vermont. She milked cows, she even had a pet cow when she was young. When she got older, she and her sister Nellie wrote to a newspaper ad that was like internet dateing is today. They both found their husbands that way. She wrote back and forth and exchanged pictures with him. He lived in N.Y. She lived in VT. He proposed to her and she said yes. They didn't meet til the day they married. They had 7 children together. They moved to Maryland, because his work transfered him here. Each time she was pregnant with her 1st 4 children, when she went into labor she would take the train from MD. to N.Y. so her mother in law could help her deliver the babies. She went each time by herself and took the children she had with her. Then came home by train the next day. Her husband had to stay home to work. She had her other 5th child at home and her mother in law Nettie came from N.Y. to help her deliver him. She had her last 2 children at home with her mother in law watching the other children while Dr. Ash delivered the babies both times. She worked hard taking care of her family. She made clothes for them, chopped wood, took care of the garden and planted flowers. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles ,search for word games, paint by numbers, crocheting, needlepoint, sewing and making things. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. We miss and love her very much.

She passed away from congestive heart failure brought on by bronchitis that turned into pneumonia.
