DEL ROSA, June 26 - Andrew Leedom, a well-known rancher who has made his home here for many years, died at 2 o’clock this morning the result of old age, yielding to a severe attack of the grip. The deceased was 81 years of age and had resided in San Bernardino valley for 25 years, devoting most of his time to farming.
The funeral will take place at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon from the late residence, the pastor of the Del Rosa Methodist church, officiating. Interment will be in the new city cemetery in San Bernardino.
Andrew Leedom was born in Muskingum county, Ohio, in 1822. He spent his boyhood days in the Buckeye State and later drifted westward. In 1878 he came to San Bernardino valley where he has since resided, owning a ranch at Del Rosa. He leaves a widow and six children, all of whom reside in the valley: Andrew, John and Charles Leedom of this place; Mrs. Milo (Milton) Canterbury and Mrs. Frank Bradbury, also of Highland, and Mrs. Amos Memes (Bemis), whose home is in Rialto. W. T. Leedom, proprietor of the Santa Fe stables, in San Bernardino, is a nephew.
