GEORGE BAILEY DIES SUNDAY
Well-Known Monroe Township Farmer Dies; Burial in M.R.E.

George Bailey, aged 78, well-known and prominent Monroe township farmer died at 5 o'clock Sunday evening at his home, a mile south and one-half mile east of Monroe. Mr. Bailey had been ill for four weeks, suffering from complications.

The deceased was born in Henry County, Ohio, March 8, 1861, a son of John and Eva Bailey. He spent most of his life in this community, and lived on the farm where he died, for 42 years.

Surviving are the widow, Emma Bailey, and one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Elzey, of southeast of Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Sophia Stauffer of Fort Wayne, and two brothers, Peter Bailey of Fort Wayne and David Bailey of Lansing, Michigan.

Mr. Bailey was a member of the German Reformed church.

The funeral will be at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the home, Rev. C. A. Schmid, pastor of the Cross Reformed church officiating, assisted by Rev. Vernon Riley, pastor of the Monroe Friends church. Burial will be in the M.R.E. Cemetery.
