John Skinner was born in Carthage, Texas, and died in Eldorado, Oklahoma. In 1900 when he was 7 he was living in Groesbeck, Limestone County, Texas with his parents. By 1910 the family was living in Looney, Harmon County, Oklahoma. On his World War I Draft Card he stated he was born in Beckville (Panola County), Texas. His obituary states he was a veteran of World War I having seen action in France with the Artillery. Apparently he never married. He was a farmer.
