Mr. Brown was a retired truck driver.
He was a World War II army veteran, and held the Asiatic-Pacific theater ribbon, Philippines Liberation Ribbon and the Victory Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Brown; six daughters, Willie Mae Johnson, Joyce Mason, Gloria J. Sudler, Margaret Ellen Brown and Rev. Dr. Dorothy E. Wilmore, all of Wilmington, and Phyllis Clark of New Jersey; and six sons, William Jr., Francis, Jerome, David L., and Larry A., all of Wilmington and Arnold Matthews of New Jersey.
Services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday where friends may call after 6. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, 33rd and Market streets.
