Almyra Elizabeth McKenzie eldest child of Alexander and Amelia McKenzie was born in Illinois, April 18, 1873 and departed this life December 1, 1956 at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 15 days. When a child she came with her parents by ox train to Kansas where she spent the rest of her life.

In the year of 1889 she was united in marriage to Vincent Powell who preceded her in death April, 1927. To this union seven children were born: Mrs. Mayme Ellis, Talala, Okla., Martin B. of Concordia, Kan., Vita Wigfield of Esbon, Kan., Blanche Foofe of Superior, Neb., Louie S. Ottawa, Kan., Marjorie Larsen of Loveland, Colo., and Alex of Brewerton, Wash.

She is survived by her children, 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and Rebecca Lodge the American Legion Auxiliary and the Methodist church of Burr Oak, Kan., where she lived the last 55 years of her life.

She was a kind and loving mother and friend and was always ready and willing to help any one in need. She will be greatly missed by everyone that had her acquaintance.
