DEATH OF MRS. DRAGOO

Harriet Dragoo, aged seventy-eight years died Monday morning at 1:20 o’clock at her home on south Forsythe street. She had been in failing health for over two years and the last two months her health had failed rapidly rendering her bedfast the last few weeks of her life.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at three o’clock at the Pisgah M. E. church, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Pritchard cemetery.

The deceased was born April 18, 1838, in the Pisgah neighborhood. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Bills and was married to John Chenoweth, who, when the Civil War broke out, entered the service and was killed in battle. Her second marriage was to John Dragoo, now deceased. Of thirteen children born to her eight survive, namely, Sarah McQuinn, of Trafalgar; Laura Brackett, of Kirkpatrick, and Emma Legan and Mrs. Legan Orr, of this city, children by her first marriage; and Mrs. Olive Heller of Indianapolis, Jesse, Walter and Webster Dragoo by her second marriage.

The parents of Mrs. Dragoo were natives of Ohio and were among the early pioneers who settled in Johnson county.
