Services for Army Spec. 4 Jimmy Culwell, 19. of Rt. 6, Lubbock, will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the 25th St. Baptist Church.
The Rev. Bert Homer, the church pastor, assisted by a military chaplain from Ft. Sill, Okla., will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Culwell died as a result of hostile enemy activities while serving with the U.S. Army 173rd Airborne paratroopers in Vietnam. Spokesman for Franklin-Bartley Home said the body will arrive here from San Francisco Wednesday.
Culwell, a Lubbock resident for 10 years, entered the service in 1967, and was awarded four Purple Hearts. He was a member of the Twenty Fifth Street Baptist Church,
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Homer V. Lowrance Sr. of Lubbock; his father, A.P. Culwell Jr., of Sallisaw, Okla.; three brothers, Kenneth, Arthur and Benny Dale, all of Lubbock; and grandparents, Mrs. Bertie Isbell, Archer City; and Mr. and Mrs. A.P. Culwell Sr. of Sallisaw, Okla.
Military pallbearers will arrive from Ft. Sill, Okla.
