Buford Carpenter, 92, of Morehead, died Friday, August 18, at his residence. He was born May 21, 1914, at Toms Branch, KY, son of the late Asa B. and Eliza Pieratt Carpenter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Carpenter; one son, Jerry Buford Carpenter; three brothers, Grover, Ova, and Omer Carpenter; two sisters, Beulah Carpenter Lee and Rae Carpenter Craft.
He is survived by three children, Asa William Carpenter and wife Judy of Cincinnati, OH, Elizabeth Byrd and husband Allan of Cincinnati, OH, and Norma Uhrine and husband Bob of Coraopilis, PA; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Wednesday August 23, 2006, at the Potter Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Clarence Watson officiating. Burial in the Ezel Cemetery, Ezel, KY. Visitation 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Potter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers: Family.
