Our beloved mother, Dorothy Dean Dodd, 78, of Midwest City, OK, went to be with
the lord on Dec. 29, 2014. Dean was born in Wichita Falls, TX to Nathan Albert
and Alpha Omega Gee (Ballard) on April 15, 1936. Her passion was watching
Bonanza and Gunsmoke. She loved to play chicken foot dominos with her
granddaughter, Cristy Speers. She also loved country and western dancing. Dean
and her twin sister, Jean, won a dancing contest at the age of 71. She loved her
dog, Chica. She also won awards for her famous chili, although her favorite
foods were hamburgers and canned peaches. She was a faithful member of Crest
Baptist Church in MWC. Dean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James
Dodd; brother, James Alfred; sisters, Reba Jones, Louise Samsel, and Jean Clark;
son-in-law, Jack Wick; and great-grandson, Michael Dean. She is survived by
daughters, Reba Dean (Lanvil Jr.) and Nancy Wick; son, Hubert D. Dye;
grandchildren, Shawn Drouin (Janet), Shanandoah Speers (Cristy), Randall Dye
(Pam), Tracy Buchanan (Brandon), Jennifer Billy (Adam), Lanvil III (Crystal),
and David Dean (Deborah); 16 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015, at
Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home, 12 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be
held 2 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2015, at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel,
interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
