Excerpt regarding Hezekiah Chidester:
"Hezekiah, the oldest son of William and Martha, married Lydia Buel, a near relative of the Maria Buel, the charming young lady who was so atrociously murdered by the infamous Gardner some 60 or more years ago, but the memory of the event is still fresh in the minds of a few old people. Hezekiah's children were Munson, Nelson, Harriet, Lafayette, Sidney, Velorus, Rush and twin girls, Chloe and Almira. Munson studied medicine with Dr. C. R. Fowler and practiced his profession in Copley, Medina county. Nelson and Sidney removed early in life to Illinois, where it is said they accumulated a respectable fortune. Velorus married a daughter of Wm. Dean, and both spent their lives in Canfield and were an honored couple. Munson B. Chidester and children are the only descendants of Hezekiah remaining in Canfield. Rush, the youngest son, died in Poland within the past year. The father of this branch of the Chidester family, died Oct. 13th, 1849, aged 65."
