Excerpt regarding: William Dean Family
"Mr. and Mrs. Dean were the parents of seven children, five of whom grew to maturity. Austin, born in 1822, married and settled in Mecca; had children but did not live to see them come to maturity. Mason, born in 1824, married and also settled in Mecca, where he yet lives. Priscilla A. married our old humorous friend, Valorus Chidester, both of whom are dead. Munson, a son of Priscilla, succeeds to the ownership of the Hiram Dean farm. Benjamin, another son of Hiram, born in '31, died while a volunteer in the late war. His remains lie buried with his kin in the Dean cemetery. Mary P., born in '33, married Almus Beardsley and with her husband resides upon the Old William Dean farm."

Note: Children; twin sons, Mason Dean and Munson Buel and a daughter, Rheuby (Mrs. Emory C. Shafer) and Flora E.
