Bonham -- Cleo Arnold Brannen; 98 of Bonham, formerly of Gladewater, Texas passed away September 6, 2008 at the Seven Oaks Care Center in Bonham. She had been living in Bonham close to her daughter and family for the last several years. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Gladewater where she has been a member since 1945.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Reverend Rodger Garbs will officiate. The services are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home in Bonham.

Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett, Texas at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Born Cleo Mae Arnold on March 9, 1910 in Pennington, Texas to Charley Arnold and Mary Evie Hooks Arnold. She married Calvin Brannen on April 4, 1930 in Crockett, Texas.

She is survived by her daughter Sue Ann Brannen Taylor and husband, Glenn of Bonham, Texas, three grandsons: James Calvin Wiggins of Bonham Texas; Michael Keith Wiggins and wife Andrea of Bonham, Texas; Robert Derrick Wiggins and wife Renee of Sherman, Texas. Cleo's three great-grandchildren include, Bailey Elaine Wiggins, Audrey May Wiggins, and Amanda Sue Wiggins, niece, Linda F. Arnold and nephew, Charles H. Arnold.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979, Her parents; sister, Mildred Arnold, brother Hugh Morris Arnold, nephew, Hugh Morris Arnold Jr. and great-nephew Chris Arnold.

Cleo attended school in Pennington and was a graduate of Rusk High School in Rusk, Texas and was a graduate of Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas. She was a teacher, seamstress, great cook and gardener. She was a past member of the Gladewater Garden Club. In the First Methodist Church she had served as a member of the Board of Stewards and taught various Sunday school classes. She loved being a member of the Creative Christians.

If desired, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 217 W. Quitman at Ferry Street, P.O. Box 1167, Gladewater, Texas 75647 to the Creative Christians.
