In Loving Remembrance

On July 8, 1937, God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to call to the great beyond Little Carl Hardee. He was the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Hardee, being just one year, and four days old at the time of his tragic death, being instantly killed by a passenger train.

He leaves to mourn his loss a father, mother, four brothers and three sisters, grandfather and grandmother, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Powell, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Oh it was so hard to have to part with him, but surely we have one great consolation, that our loss is his eternal gain.

We are often made to wonder why it is that God would call the baby from home and loved ones, and make our poor hearts blue. But sometime in the future in yonder's glory land, we will read the meaning of our tears and then we'll understand.

He's just a little flower,
Faded to bloom again in heaven;
And some day we shall meet him,
Beside the shining river.

Funeral services were conducted in the home of Rev. Dowle Harrelson, after which the little body was laid to rest in the Loris Cemetery to await the resurrection mourn.
