"The Clanton Advertiser," page 2, June 25, 1997, Funeral services for Benjamin Gradey "Buddy" Abbott, 60, of Maplesville, were held on Monday, June 23, 1997, at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Plantersville at 2 p.m. with the Reverends Ralph Smith and Gary Jones officiating. Burial was at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Cemetery with the Martin Funeral Home directing. Mr. Abbott was born in Chilton County on January 4, 1937 to the late Felton Abbott and Rosie Mae Haigler Abbott. He died at his residence in Maplesville on June 21, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Fisher Abbott, Maplesville; a son, daughter-in-law and daughter, Benjie and Charlene Abbott, Maplesville; Carla Abbott, Maplesville; a granddaughter, Chay Longcrier, Maplesville; two sisters and six brothers, Willie Cahalane, Maplesville; Dot Stough, Birmingham; Earl Abbott, Raymond Abbott, Will Abbott, Billy Abbott, Cecil Abbott and Dough Abbott, all of Maplesville.
